Getting Started with MS Cues

MS Cues is a powerful audio synchronization editor designed to streamline your VR filmmaking process within MS Studio. It enables you to create precise MSCue files, revolutionizing how you manage audio and visual cues during your productions.

Why Use MS Cues?

In the dynamic world of VR filmmaking, particularly when capturing body acting in VRChat, maintaining seamless performance timing is crucial. Actors may occasionally miss lines, or you might want to provide visual aids to reinforce their performance. MS Cues addresses these challenges by:

  • Providing Timed Cues: Deliver audio and visual cues precisely when needed.
  • Improving Actor Performance: Help actors stay on track with lines and timing.
  • Enhancing Visual Communication: Display synchronized images and subtitles to guide actors through complex scenes.
  • Personalized Cues: Deliver unique subtitle and image tracks to each actor in an MS Studio call, allowing for tailored directions and cue visualization.
  • Streamlining MS Studio Workflow: Integrate seamlessly with MS Studio for a more efficient production process.

By incorporating MS Cues into your VR filmmaking workflow, you can significantly improve the quality and consistency of your productions.

How MS Cues Works

MS Cues leverages a new MSDriver system within MS Studio, ensuring robust synchronization between your audio and visual cues. Here's a breakdown of the process:

  1. Audio Storyboard/Script Creation:
    • Begin by creating your audio storyboard or script, laying the foundation for your scene's dialogue and sound design. This audio track will serve as the backbone of your MS Cues project.
  2. Subtitle Import:
    • Import subtitles for each actor involved in your scene. MS Cues allows you to assign specific subtitle tracks to individual actors, ensuring personalized cue delivery. Create Subtitles in the editor!
    • There is also a option to add and create subtitles inside of the Editor!
  3. Image Cue Integration:
    • Enhance your scene with visual cues by importing images. This is particularly useful for:
      • Visual References: Provide actors with visual references for complex actions, such as fight choreography or specific poses.
      • Scene Direction: Show specific images to indicate scene changes or important visual elements.
      • Personalized Directions: Deliver different images to each actor to give them unique directions.
  4. MSCue File Creation:
    • Utilize MS Cues to compile your audio, subtitles, and images into a comprehensive MSCue file. Precisely time each cue to align with your audio track.
  5. MSDriver Integration and MS Overlay:
    • The enhanced MSDriver system in MS Studio seamlessly integrates with your MSCue file, ensuring accurate synchronization. The MS Overlay then displays the synchronized subtitles and images to each actor in real-time.
  6. Synchronized Performance:
    • Actors receive their personalized cues, including subtitles and visual references, in perfect synchronization with the audio. This ensures a cohesive and professional performance, even in complex scenes.

This integrated system enables precise control over your VR filmmaking, empowering you to create compelling and engaging content.
